Winter Exhibition: Past and Present United

Winter Show: an eclectic mix of the past and present starts this weekend 19^thNovember – 28^th January

The gallery is a teaming with artwork, hardly anything is hung and everything is open to change. However amidst the exhibition changeover for the Winter Show there is one certainty: this vivid show is set to be an eclectic mix of the past and premieres of new works.

The eagerly anticipated exhibition presents an opportunity for those who missed out on any past 2011 RGG shows. Presenting the best prints from past shows, while also premiering exclusive works.

Remember the weird and wonderful works from the likes of Ray Caesar and Jonas Lofgren? What about the retrospective photo prints of rock’n’rollers Gered Mankowitz and Graham Nash? All will be included in the Winter Show, commencing this weekend. Not forgetting our avid followers as we unveil originals of linocut and hand coloured prints from Bill Fick, premiered especially for RGG’s audience.

The Central Station Paints Coronation Street Part 1 Opening was a great success. Thanks to everyone who came down. We had lots of fun, lots of drinks thanks to Barefoot Wine and Vitamin Water and the art was fantastic. There are still prints of the paintings available so get in touch if you are interested

This week we are at the affordable art fair in battersea park. We are showcasing work from Ray Caesar, Ron Jobb, Donald Topp, Terry O’Neill, Scott Carutthers and Alien Corset. We also have a brand new set of nudes by Anita Kunz for the first time in the UK

We are looking for some new full time gallery staff in our Thomas St Location.

If you want to work at the gallery and know your Emek from your Small Stakes, your 3A from your Dunny let us know.
Yes its true we are looking for some new staff. With the ever increasing demands on the gallery we need some more people to work full time in the gallery, so if you ever wanted to get into the art world at the front end, this is the time.

We are looking for full time gallery staff Tuesday to Saturday. You need to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable and good at dealing with customers front line, and working in a dynamic changing hectic at times environment.

This is very much an in touch with the customer position. You need to be Knowledgeable about gig posters and music, know about the vinyl and the art scene, contemporary and low brow. Think Juxtapoz, Hi Fructose, Dangerous Ink, Art of Modern Rock etc.

The role includes all aspects of dealing with the customers, orders, exhibitions and the full gallery life cycyle. You need to be computer literate but this isn’t a desk job by any means.

Richard Goodall Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair 22nd – 25th October Battersea Park, London

The Affordable Art Fair has been leading the charge for accessible art since its launch in 1999, and is one of the principal UK showcases for affordable art, priced between £50 and £3,000. 120 carefully chosen galleries from across Europe and the UK will be exhibiting contemporary drawings, paintings, photography, prints and sculpture. We figure it’s only right that one of those carefully chosen galleries should be us!

Marking the Affordable Art Fair’s 10th Anniversary, the Richard Goodall Gallery will be in attendance exhibiting the wonderful works of a number of our favourite artists including Ron Job, Donald Topp, Central Station, Kendra Binney and Niagara.

With the Spring Collection 2009 attracting over 22,500 visitors, this Autumn Collection is set to be the accessible art event of 2009 and (luckily) you don’t have to be an art genius or a multi-millionaire to enjoy it. Ray Caesar, Art London Fair 8-12 October Royal Hospital Chelsea

Art London 2009 is just around the corner! This celebrated art fair has had its sights firmly set on affable accessibility since its conception in 1991 – “serious” art abounds, but Art London brings with it a friendly welcome often lacking in your [scary] high-brow events. As one antiques magazine puts it “Art London is a fair that could teach the others a trick or two…”

And so to London! With a mind-bending Ray Caesar solo exhibition, The Richard Goodall Gallery will be showing brand new pieces created exclusively for the event by this wonderfully weird creator. The final pieces of Ray’s older editions will also be available, and visitors will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase the artist’s proofs of long sold out images.

London-born Ray Caesar is the creator of otherworldly digital images which are at once grim and hopeful; alien and familiar. Children are a mainstay of his creations – having worked for 17 years in The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ray has previously remarked “it is clear to me that this is the birthplace of all my imagery.” Fascinatingly futuristic yet curiously familiar, Caesar’s images are a journey into an unnervingly beautiful enigma.

Tara McPherson Lost Constellations Book Signing June 11 in Richard Goodall Gallery Thomas St.

For one day only Artist Tara McPherson will be at Richard Goodall Gallery to sign copies of her new book Lost Constellations, the art of Tara McPherson volume 2, and her new Kidrobot Vinyl Gama Mutants.

We’ll also have copies of her first book, and new prints and giclees by Tara in the gallery.

Ray Caesar Burlesque Event April 21st

To end the current Ray Caesar exhibition at Richard Goodall Gallery we are holding a very special one night only event.

Three of the finest performers and stars of Burlesque Fanny Divine, Lola Pops and Daison Merriere.

The girls will be modelling outfits based on Ray Caesar’s images, presented by Kiku, the Manchester corsetry boutique.

The event is strictly RSVP Invite only and you can get on the list by mailing the gallery at RSVP @ Richardgoodallgallery.com.

This series of new works consist the largest pieces to date by Caesar. The oversize pieces transport us to the weird and wonderful world inhabited by Caesar’s impossible creations. Intricate and engrossing, disturbing yet beautiful.

Also on view will be the final pieces of Caesar’s previous works, exclusively available from the gallery. His work is highly sought after and is in the collections of many famous collectors and institutions.
