Bardot, Bond, Beckham and Beyond: Photographs by Terry O’Neill runs from 23rd September to 16th of October at the Richard Goodall Gallery, Manchester. Entrance is free.
World-renowned photographer, Terry O’Neill is returning to Manchester for an exclusive preview evening on September 23rd to launch his highly anticipated exhibition at the Richard Goodall Gallery, Manchester. The exhibition features new and unseen images of the most iconic stars of the 20th Century - Sean Connery as James Bond, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot - discovered during extensive archiving of Terry’s career spanning fifty years at the forefront of fame.
Alongside these never before seen images, Terry will be available to answer questions on the intriguing stories behind his pictures - how Ava Gardner introduced him to Frank Sinatra, his part in the discovery of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, and his life long friendship with icons, such as Raquel Welch, Sir Michael Caine, Sir Elton John and Eric Clapton among others.
Terry is exhibited in museums and galleries around the world - the image of Brigitte Bardot (above) hangs permanently in The National Portrait Gallery – and his work adorns the walls and private art collections of, among others, Simon Cowell and Justin Timberlake. His images - spanning five decades, and including Nelson Mandela, Paul Newman, David Beckham and The Royal Family - are renowned for their remarkable candour and intimacy, and reflect the close and personal relationship between subject and photographer.
Terry dominated the London’s photographic scene from the 60s to the present day and regularly exhibits in London, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He was the photographer chosen to record Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday and has recently shot Sir Michael Caine and Sir Alan Sugar. He is currently exhibiting in London, New York and Moscow.
