| CURRENT EXHIBITION The Art of John Lennon Prints and Original Works November 24 2009 - January 9 2010 | | Opening November 24th. The Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester will be exhibiting a collection of John Lennon’s art work from 19th November. The new exhibition will offer art collectors and Beatles fans alike the chance to view around 50 pieces by the artist, including eleven original drawings on loan from Yoko Ono. The exhibition presents a unique insight into the life of Lennon and is an opportunity to see first-hand the significant role which art played in the musician’s life. The exhibition continues until Jan 9th Primarily working in pencil, pen or Japanese Sumi Ink, Lennon's drawings are 'signed' using a patented stamp known as a chop, often used by artists in the Orient. The stamp, reading “Like a Cloud. Beautiful Sound” was applied by Lennon himself to each edition. Each limited edition print on sale at the exhibition displays this unique hallmark. Opening on July 9th 2007 the second location for Richard Goodall Gallery on High Street in Manchester will focus exclusively on contemporary art in the forms of Photography, Painting, Sculpture, Lenticulars, and Editioned Prints. The other location on Thomas St, Richard Goodall Gallery: Thomas Street will continue to show Rock Poster, Low Brow art and designer vinyl.
