Jamie Baldrige Pilgrims & Peregrines November 2008

Manchester’s Richard Goodall Gallery is to launch Pilgrims and Peregrines by acclaimed American artist, Jamie Baldridge from 7th November to 6th December 2008 in the UK. The exhibition is exclusive to Richard Goodall Gallery in the UK.

There will be thirty-eight images on display at the gallery, each one available in limited editions of 20. This is the first chance to view and purchase these technically stunning works by Baldridge, previously unseen in the UK.  See the work here.

The works are created using traditional and advanced digital photography techniques. The sheer technical wizardry used in this series of works is mind blowing.

It is his technical ability that creates an image that is completely unique to Baldridge’s art and demonstrates his incredible imagination. The images follow the themes of motherhood and female fecundity, brought to life by Baldridge’s unbelievable use of light.

Jamie's first book,'The Everywhere Chronicles' has recently been published by 21st Editions, the world renowned publishers of fine art volumes. Images from the book will included in the exhibition. The book recently won the important Lucie Award for best book.

Baldridge himself has been called, “an imaginative genius”, themes depicting contemplation and surrealism reign supreme in many of his works. His style has been likened to other Louisiana photo-surrealists and optical illusionists such as J.K. Potter and the late historical surrealist, Clarence John Laughlin.

Richard Goodall, curator of the Richard Goodall gallery, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to view the work of a great visionary, an artist whose imagination knows no bounds.

“Combined with the outstanding technical artistic talent, Baldridge’s images will capture imagination and fascinate viewers. This is one of the most groundbreaking exhibitions we have had, it is exclusive to Richard Goodall Gallery in the UK and is sure to make maximum impact.” See the work here
