Promotional poster for the Austin stop on the band's 2006-7 tour supporting the critically acclaimed album, The Crane Wife. The album is loosely based on the Japanese folk tale of a mysterious bride who turns into a crane. What better to promote it than a poster that does the same?
Along with traditional Japanese patterning the poster features easy* step-by-step instructions allowing the audience to fold the poster into a giant origami crane. Folded posters were placed in record shops, book stores, cafes and bars in the weeks prior to the concert to generate buzz for the event.
